[ He shrugs a little tiredly -- if he were entirely honest, there was a quick moment there, as the electricity surged through his system (and he spares a quick moment to tamp down the memory of how much it fucking hurt), that he definitely thought, "Welp, this is it."

He won't tell her that, though.

Instead, he flashes her a confused sort of smile, one that can't tell if it wants to be reassuring or cocky. ]

Let's be fair, it was meant for you. Maybe he just wanted to incapacitate, get you under control.

[ And here he gives her a smirk. ] I just woke up, and we had something like an argument, reconciled, and had some sort of weird, emotional breakthrough. Not bad for being awake less than hour, right?

[ She actually laughs at that. Good job, Peter. ] I'd say it's been a busy day already.

[ He leans forward, pulling his knees up a little to rest his elbows on them. ]

We should probably find a new place to hide out, right? Keep the Order off our scent.

Eat something, first. It may not seem it, but we're quite the distance from that town. We have some time, and I'd rather not travel until you're completely ready.

I didn't have trouble walking. [ For a moment, based on the way the corners of his mouth are drawn down and the way his eyebrows are furrowed, one might be able to call his expression petulant. ]

I had trouble standing. Difference.

[ That brings him up short, and his shoulders drop a little. As though on reflex, one hand gingerly touches the angry red marks on his chest. ]
