[ He stands, cradling the puppy in one arm and brushing himself off; he then offers her a hand up. ]

[ She takes his hand and hauls herself upright. Once he's standing, she leans in to press a quick kiss to his cheek.

There's something so delightfully normal about the whole situation, and honestly it's making her happier than she has been in a long time. ]

I hope you're thinking about names for her.

[ He grins, feeling that twinge of happiness, then hooks his arm around her shoulders as they head over to the breeders. Without missing a beat, he says, ]

Still pushing for Charwin, actually.

[ He affects a sour look for a second before he abandons it altogether. ] I'm open to suggestions, then.

[ she just. gives him a light whack on the arm anyway ]

I dunno. I've never really had to name anything before. Layla? Brandy? Sharona? Roxanne?

I don't really know either. Ellie? Helena? Tina?

Hmm. [ she reaches over to bop the puppy on the nose ] Tiny little Tina.

[ The puppy huffs at that, shaking her head. ]

Tina it is, then. I'm guessin' now's as good a time as any to let you know I don't have the first clue to raising a dog.

Feed it. Play with it. Teach it not to eat your boots.

She seems smart. I think we'll be okay.

[ He huffs out a laugh. ]

Well, hopefully it's that easy.

[ He walks up to the breeder, who's waiting for them nearby. The puppy is traded for coin, and the breeder praises them for their choice (as they're probably obligated to do). The man provides them with information as to what the dog can and can't eat, then wishes them the best of luck.

As they're walking away, Peter picks up the puppy with both hands, turning her to face him. He stares at her with a critical eye. ]

You'd better not secretly be some kinda soul-sucking demon.

Wow. Should I be offended?

[ He casts her a sidelong glance. ]

Since when did you suck out people's souls? Is this a new thing?

Not souls, no, but you do recall the part where I was going to start draining the life out of you to stay on this plain, right?

Yeah, but I gotta figure that was more gentle. Like drips in a bucket.
