[ He flashes her a crooked sort of smirk and shrugs a shoulder. ]

Nah, I say it all the time, actually.

[ She chuckles a little, whatever worry she felt easing out of her ]

Well, you're welcome, Peter. I'm glad I happened along when I did.

[ He doesn't realize how seriously wound-up he is until she laughs, until he finds himself relaxing by degrees. ]

Yeah, I am, too. [ And he's a little more earnest than usual, abandoning his sort of smartass tone. He might even sound sheepish.

Too bad Maya doesn't have a way to record this momentous occasion. ]

Honestly, I figured you would've, I dunno. Gotten freaked out. I wouldn't've blamed you if you'd decided to leave.

[ He blinks once, twice, then-- smiles a little. It's vastly different from his usual grins, though, which span from wide and (occasionally) obnoxious to crooked and teasing.

This one is-- small and hesitant, like it was surprised out of him. ]

Yeah. Guess it would've been a dick move. [ -- one he totally would've expected, back on the Eclector. While the Ravagers cared for their own, that care didn't really extend to turdwads afraid of tiny holes and falling rubble.

Any of those assholes would've left Peter to deal with that shit on his own. ]

Still, I mean. I just-- wanted to thank you. For talking me through it and everything. You really didn't have to.

I'll admit, I didn't hang out with the most upstanding group of characters on Pandora, but when it came down to it, we always had each other's backs.

[ He shrugs. ]

I don't do that whole... [ vague hand motions ] passive-aggressive bitchy thing. If I've got a problem with you, you'd know it.

[ He gives her a sort of half-smile. ]

Through a healthy application of fire and mind bubbles, I'm assuming?

[ Her expression lights up, just a little ]

[ -- The way she brightens doesn't go unnoticed, and he smiles a little, amused. ]

Yeah, just lemme know what caliber, and if I find anything, it's yours.

[ She reaches around to a small, glowing device clipped to the back of her belt. Her SMG materializes out of it in a flurry of blue light. She pops open the ammo chamber/ ]

It's mostly this guy I'm having trouble with.

[ WHOA WHAT.

He puts his hands up to interrupt her. ]

Hang on. We gonna just-- gloss over the fact that you kinda just pulled your gun out of thin air?

Oh, no, that was my digistruct device.

[ She tugs it off of her belt to show it to him- it's a about the length of her hand, and covered with glowing blue lights ] It digitally deconstructs things and stores them inside.

[ He kind of stares at it, listens to explanation, and-- ]

Magic backpack.

I--- yeah, sure, let's go with that.

It just sort of appeared after all that weirdness with the well. It was empty, because of course it was, but it's nice to have.

[ -- at the mention of that, he sobers a little. ]

... Right. The boon or whatever. Well, hey, that's awesome. Probably makes trips up North a lot easier, huh?

It's kind of nice, yeah.

... You should let me know the next time you want to make a trek. Those tunnels are more fun in groups.
